Description :

This charming set of thirteen fish-shaped plates was produced by Longwy, one of France’s most celebrated ceramic manufacturers. Crafted in creamware with a warm ivory glaze, each plate features a sculpted fish head on one side and a matching tail on the other, enhanced with hand-painted brown accents. The plates display the typical Longwy attention to detail: a finely molded rim, clean lines, and a playful yet elegant decorative motif inspired by coastal dining traditions.

Dating from the mid-20th century, this set was designed specifically for serving fish or seafood dishes, making it ideal for a Mediterranean-style table or a coastal inspired interior. Their generous size and practical oval form allow them to function as serving plates or individual dinner plates. The bases are stamped LONGWY FRANCE, ensuring authenticity.

Overall, the plates are in very good condition for their age, with light surface wear consistent with careful use. A delightful and characterful set for collectors, entertainers, or anyone who loves vintage French tableware with personality.
