This refined pair of French fauteuils à dossier à la reine captures the elegance and craftsmanship of the Louis XV revival style, dating from the 19th century. The carved beechwood frames retain their original lacquered finish, now softly patinated with age, which enhances the gentle curves and intricate detailing of the design.

Each chair features a high, flat backrest in the classic “à la reine” form, crowned with a finely carved floral crest. The sinuous arms extend gracefully to padded armrests, also finished with matching upholstery and framed by a neat border of antique brass nailhead trim. The cabriole legs are adorned with floral carvings at the knees, leading to delicately scrolled feet.

The upholstery is in very good condition, showcasing a finely woven floral tapestry in warm tones of gold and beige on a soft cream background. The large-scale botanical pattern complements the lacquered frames beautifully, creating a harmonious and sophisticated presentation.

Comfortably proportioned and generously padded, these armchairs combine decorative appeal with everyday usability. Perfect for a formal salon, bedroom, or refined living space, they embody the timeless charm of French seating.
