Description :

An exquisite pair of giltwood armchairs in the Louis XVI style with original Aubusson tapestry covers in gold tones. Elegantly carved and upholstered, this fine set exhibits richly carved motifs throughout, as well as attractively worn tapestry upholstery ornamented with floral garlands and foliage. This floral theme is echoed in the moulding on the frame of each chair back – an intricate design of dots, flowers and foliage – with this motif being continued on the stiles raising the médaillon backrest, the base of the arm supports, the capitals of each leg and the centre of the apron. The chairs are raised over beautiful, ribbed and twisted legs, each one terminating in a dainty arrow foot.
