Description :

This elegant vintage pitcher is a beautiful example of traditional Biot glassmaking, crafted in the South of France using age-old artisanal techniques. Hand-blown in thick blush pink glass, it features the iconic bubble inclusions that have become a hallmark of Biot production, created by introducing bicarbonate into the molten glass to trap air naturally during the blowing process. Each bubble is unique, giving the piece its lively texture and unmistakable character.

The softly rounded body tapers gently toward the neck, while the applied handle and hand-shaped pouring spout demonstrate the spontaneity and skill of the glassblower. The subtle color gradation, ranging from pale rose to deeper amber tones toward the base, adds warmth and depth, catching the light beautifully from every angle.

Both decorative and functional, this pitcher can be used as a water or wine jug, or displayed as a sculptural accent on a dining table, sideboard, or open shelving. Its timeless design makes it equally suited to rustic Mediterranean interiors and more contemporary settings.

A charming and authentic piece of French studio glass, dating from the mid-20th century, and a lovely addition to any collection of European art glass or refined tableware.
