This generously sized oval serving platter originates from France, and features an outer band of embossed faux basket-weave decoration in creamy white. Adorning both ends of this charming ceramic plate are collections of exuberant raised and hand-painted fruits: strawberries, plums, blackcurrants and redcurrants, all swathed in finely detailed foliage. In good antique condition, with some signs of use and a minor chip to the glazing on its base, this large french glazed majolica serving platter with a decor of fruits would make a most attractive dish for summer parties.
