This petite commode is a charming example of 19th century craftsmanship inspired by the classic Louis XV style. Crafted from beautifully figured, veneered wood, the commode features graceful curves on all sides. It opens to reveal two drawers, each adorned with intricate marquetry of scrolling foliage. The top is covered in a dramatic, veined marble slab that adds a touch of opulence.
The commode's elegance is further enhanced by the gilded bronze mounts that adorn the drawers, sides, and base. The curved legs and delicate ormolu feet contribute to its graceful lines. The marquetry, executed in contrasting woods, creates a visually rich and sophisticated surface.
