This very pretty Paris porcelain vase dates from the 19th century, and features a beautiful enamelled floral design of wildflowers, surrounded by rococo style moulding embellished with hand-applied gilding. Crafted in a flattened 'navette' or 'boat' shape, this petite vase has an ornate oval base and an attractively undulating rim, which echoes the curves of the rococo decoration. Possibly once used as a 'spill vase' (for holding firelighting equipment on a mantlepiece), this vase is an elegant ornament in its own right.
