Description :
A riotously colourful set of eleven Rhine wine, or 'Roemer', glasses in sparkling Saint-Louis crystal. The tulip-shaped chalice of each is cut to clear with tall and pointed lozenges, while the stem features elegantly cut flat ribs. The glasses are all stamped 'Saint-Louis' under the round foot, although the signature is, on some, partially illegible. Comprising two glasses each in the colours of red, charteuse, light blue, dark blue and emerald green, as well as one in pink, the set is from the 'Cerdagne' series, which was created in 1955, and refers to the the region of the same name in the Pyrenees, which straddles France and Spain. The legendary Compagnie des Cristalleries de Saint Louis was founded in 1586, and is renowned for the quality and craftsmanship of its crystal.
