A superb terracotta statuette depicting a Grecian-style woman in a flowing gown, into whose ear a winged cherub is whispering. Although crafted in a rustic style, the detail is fascinating, with immense character portrayed in the faces and wonderful detailing to the hair and clothing. Standing on a small square plinth, the rear side of the sculpture is left unworked in the 'non-finito' style, and it is signed there with the initials 'H.A.' and dated 1911.
