This elegant side table or Nightstand in solid walnut is a beautiful example of late 18th century French craftsmanship. The refined silhouette and detailing suggest a transitional piece between the Louis XVI and Directoire periods, with neoclassical influences clearly visible in its fluted legs, restrained ornamentation, and balanced proportions.

The piece features a white veined marble top framed by a pierced brass gallery, a hallmark of the era, and a single tambour door that opens smoothly to reveal a spacious compartment. Below, a lower shelf adds functional storage or display space. The turned, tapered legs end in brass sabots, completing its graceful profile.
Made from richly toned walnut, the wood has developed a warm patina over time, enhancing its character. The table is entirely original, including the tambour mechanism and the marble top, which shows light wear consistent with age.
Ideal as a bedside table or occasional piece, it brings historical charm and understated sophistication to any interior. A rare find that blends functionality with the timeless appeal of French neoclassical design.
