Description :
A rare and magnificent Louis XIV style candlestick, dating from the 18th century, in finely chiseled and gilded bronze. Its baluster-shaped barrel is richly ornamented with swags and swirls, motifs of vases, fantastical creatures, draperies and acanthus leaves in the 'Grande Siècle' style. Faces in profile adorn each of the four sides. This substantial candlestick stands on an octagonal, reeded base, which gives it excellent stability.
