This sparkling breakfast (or sorbet) service by renowned French glass designer René Lalique comprises a lidded butter, or fruit dish and seven coquetiers (egg cups), and dates from 1933. Part of the celebrated 'Nippon' range, which was an important item in the Lalique catalogue during the inter-war period, each piece is created using the mould-blown glass technique, with concentric rows of tiny air bubbles, or 'air pearls', acting like minuscule reflectors within the glass. This creates a truly dazzling effect. The butter dish is etched with the signature 'R. Lalique, France', and has a minor chip to the bottom of its lid. The service is in otherwise fabulous condition, and is ready to add some serious glitz to your breakfast table.
