Description :
An unusually decorative openwork compote, or fruit basket, in old Paris porcelain and parcel gilt. The reticulated sides of its oval bowl are exquisitely crafted, its exterior gilded and shining, while the pedestal and lower bowl are delicately hand-painted with the most dainty of floral motifs. Perfect for use as a stunning table centrepiece, the basket stands on a sturdy circular base, its edges highlighted with gilt bands. It dates from the 19th century.
